Wicken Fen National Nature Reserve

Discover a lost landscape as you explore this remnant of ancient fenland.

Our Boardwalk and longer trails, plus 9 viewing hides, offer you the chance to experience this internationally renowned wetland and its wildlife up close. Enjoy huge skies and open vistas across wildflower meadows, reedbeds, sedge fields and water. Wicken Fen is home to a huge variety of birds, including rare species such as hen harriers and bittern, plants and insects as well as our grazing herds of konik ponies and highland cattle.

Opening Times

Reserve / Visitor Centre / Shop: All year, every day, 10:00 – 17:00

Café: 1 January – 27 February, Wednesday – Sunday, 10:00 – 16.30, 1 March – 31 October, every day, 10:00 – 17:00 2 November – 31 Decmeber, Wednesday – Sunday 10:00 – 16:30.

Fen Cottage: 26 March – 24 July, Saturday and Sunday, 14:00 – 17:00, 27 July – 31 August, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday 11:00 – 17:00, 3 September – 30 October, Saturday and Sunday, 14:00 – 17:00.

Gift Aid Admission*

Adult: £5.99, Child (5-17 years): £2.99, Family: £14.99. Reduced Rates for pre-booked groups. National Trust members and under 5s free.

*Includes a voluntary 10% donation. Visitors can choose to pay standard admission prices displayed at Wicken Fen and at www.nationaltrust.org.uk
