An internationally important wetland, and home to thousands of animal and plant species, Wicken Fen offers a glimpse of a lost landscape. It is the most important surviving area of the Great Fen of East Anglia, and offers visitors a chance to explore via a Boardwalk and longer trails. The Visitor Centre and nine bird-hides give views across wildflower meadows, reedbeds, wet grassland and open water. Animals present include hen and marsh harriers, bittern, otters, konig ponies, 21 types of dragonfly, and about 1000 types each of moth and beetle.
