The Raptor Foundation
Inspiring the next generation of Animal Conservationists, Scientist and Zoo Keepers.
The Raptor Foundation originally known as Ramsey Raptor Rescue was established in 1989. Over the next 5 years it grew rapidly and soon housed over a one hundred birds of Prey. A decision was made to find a new home. This new home had to accommodate not only the birds but also an Education room, Tearoom, on site hospital, flying grounds and enough room to expand. We still continue to rescue and rehabilitate native injured wild birds of prey back to the wild as well as taking in other birds that come in for various reasons. We currently house 170 birds of prey from a Little owl to a Golden Eagle. In an effort to continue to improve and develop the centre we opened a small Reptile and Meerkat exhibit which has helped with our Education programme and linking into the school’s curriculum.
Throughout the year we have programmed events, workshops and talks. Visit our website to find our more details.
